Ummm What? I totally understand that booking a photography session might be a completely new experience for you, and especially since it involves your dog, but no worries! I've got you! I place a huge focus on my customer service, and this is a little new to me too, but I will be available every step of the way to navigate the process and make things easier for you and your pooch!
What kind of cost am I looking at? This will depend on a few factors such as number of images desired, extra services (custom flower collar, multiple dogs, multiple locations, etc.) and preferred image delivery method. But my base rate for a 30-45min session with one dog, one location, pickup and drop off (Langdale to Halfmoon Bay), 7-10 digitally optimized images, and digital downloads, is $150*. I will lay out a complete estimate in my proposal based on your questionnaire and we will discuss any additions or removal of services before anything is finalized.
Can I be in the pictures?! At this time, no. I hope to add this service soon, but as of right now, my specialty is in dog portraiture. I will update my website as soon as I feel confident enough offering this service!
My dog needs time to warm up to people, will this stress them out? I work with dogs who have a multitude of different personalities and temperaments, and the last thing I want is a stressed out dog! We can tackle this a couple of ways depending on how much anxiety your dog exhibits. First, I can come by for a quick meet-and-greet at an agreed upon outdoor space for about 15mins. If this doesn't seem to be enough time, you can book me for a one hour private walk with your dog though Kirsten's Canine Care (regular customers of Kirsten's get a discount on their photo session!) and hopefully this will be enough time for your dog and I to bond and we can proceed to finalize a date for your photo shoot!
What if my dog can't be off-leash? No worries! It's most likely your dog will be kept on a long line during their shoot. You'd be surprised how easily it is to hide a leash during photo shoots.
What if I have a "difficult dog", can I still use your service? Absolutely!! I currently work as a dog walker for Kirsten's Canine Care in Sechelt and I hold a Professional Dog Walker Certificate which included classes in dog psychology and "difficult" dog behaviors. But as my course and experience has taught me, there are no difficult dog behaviors, just undesirable TYPICAL dog behaviors that can be managed if you know what signs to look for. I already love your pet, so please don't stress!
